How it works

Common questions
What is Making Tax Digital for Income Tax and does it affect me?

From April 2026, sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC. The threshold falls to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028. We set up the software and make every submission for you. See our Making Tax Digital service.

Can you deal with HMRC for me?

Yes. With your authorisation we act as your agent, so HMRC correspond with us directly and we can speak to them on your behalf.

When do I need to register for VAT?

You must register once your taxable turnover in any rolling 12-month period goes over the VAT threshold, or if you expect to pass it in the next 30 days. We monitor this for bookkeeping clients and will tell you when it is coming.

Thinking of switching accountant? It is easier than you think.

Tell us a little about your business and we will come back to you within one working day with how we can help and what it will cost. Or speak directly to Craig, our senior partner, on 07949 534119.
